The Anza Borrego region in the southernmost part of California, can be considered a Geological Bonanza. Ancient seabeds, volcanic uplifts, a continuing shift and shake from active fault lines, combine with the erosive power of flash floods to produce very unique canyons and fissures in the earth. The mystery of this ever changing action can be felt in the marvelous reflected light that colors the walls in these deep and narrow canyons.
