About the Artist
A condensed history of work through 2011. Early work is from 8x10,11x14, and 8x20 cameras. Film was the medium and nearly every camera type and format has been used. As new tools present great possibilities, I use each for their strengths. What tools and methods chosen are those which allow me to be honest, and present each moment with beauty and dignity. To me a successful image can dominate a space. But more than just graphic appeal, it must feed our vision with new inspiration and understanding on a continuing basis.

Spending the winter and spring in Tucson, Arizona, gave me the opportunity to observe the seasonal changes of the Sonoran flora. I was particularly drawn to the flowering of the wide variety of cacti. I attempt to present the character and beauty of these rugged, spiny, fruit bearing plants, in a minimal and direct manner. The use of long macro lenses give me the ability to record minimal depth of field. The use of focus stacking allows me to selectively choose what elements I want to reveal and at what degree of apparent sharpness they will be observed.

As a full time, on the road traveler and artist, the opportunities to capture unique moments in our ever changing landscape are presented to me daily. This gallery of images will grow as I add to it every week. Staying on location for extended time without cell or internet, has brought me volumes of new work with minimal interruption. The problem has been with no presentation on the web. I will remedy the rumor of my demise by adding new images to this collection weekly. Creating with faithfulness to my original vision, I present this work from past and present.
